Data growth is continuing unchecked. By 2025 global data volumes will grow to 175 zettabytes. About 80 percent of these data will be stored in companies. This is the result of a study published in 2018 on worldwide data volumes by the American hard disk manufacturer Seagate and the IT market intelligence company IDC. Data themselves are increasingly becoming a resource and an economic asset. But what are these data being used for and what benefits can companies derive from them? What rules do we need for data economy? Must data sovereignty lie with consumers themselves?
The arguments underlying these questions will be discussed in the press briefing at the 2nd Cybersecurity Summit Command Control. Data privacy and security in particular are now a decisive competitive factor for companies – and at Command Control decision-makers from the commercial world and politics will gain valuable and practical insights into successful and regulation-compliant data management from data experts.
